Event Report!

What Went Down?

Kids from around the greater Washington D.C. area congregate together at Palace 5ive skateshop on 14th and Florida ave at noon on June 21st. The first 300 are handed out exclusive Palace to Pulaski tee shirts, but over 600 kids showed up in 2009. All the skaters take over 14th street as they skate straight down to Freedom plaza, ironically named considering skateboarding is technically illegal there. It is a symbolic moment, and display of our strength in numbers, and the authorities attempts to corral us are futile. They already know that we ultimately run the streets. The rest of the afternoon Palace 5ive puts on a free BBQ and street/miniramp sessions outside of the shop with product tosses at the end.
